The 18th edition of Cibus will be inaugurated today in Parma by the Minister of Agriculture, Maurizio Martina. The forecasts are all positive thanks to the record numbers of Expo15 that will drive the event:
– 3 thousand exhibitors on an area of 130 thousand square meters;
– 70 thousand visitors expected, of which 15 thousand from abroad;
– 2 thousand top buyers from every continent.
Cibus has always been synonymous with success, for the volume of business it generates, the international reputation it has acquired, the number of exhibitors increasing by 11% and the gross square metres of exhibition space also increased by 8%. The Cibus organization has accompanied Italian food companies at the most important international trade fairs – Beijing, Bangkok, Chicago and San Francisco – has organized road shows – in Tokyo, Dubai and Singapore – meetings with foreign buyers in the Cibus Market Check – Moscow, New York, Sao Paulo and Shanghai. The aim is to transform Cibus into a permanent platform for the promotion of Italian food abroad.
There will be 3,000 companies that cover all sectors: meat and cold cuts, cheese and dairy products, ultra-fresh and frozen food, pasta preserves, condiments, confectionery and bakery products, the Fourth Range, drinks, typical and regional products, and more. Among the new products there is a section dedicated to fresh and very fresh products, one dedicated to fish and one to Halal and Kosher certified products. The presence of organic, gluten-free and vegan products is increasing, as are the companies that present packaging products that are more respectful of the environment. During the event there will be cooking shows, tastings and 25 conferences and workshops.
